Tommy Claude Pryor was born on April 7, 1945, to Claudel Pryor and Willie Mavis Bozeman Pryor. As the eldest of nine siblings, he was a guiding presence in his family.
The Pryor family relocated to Dallas, TX, where Tommy built a life rooted in love, hard work, and dedication to those he cherished. A graduate of James Madison High School, he began his career with Plastic Manufacturing Company, where he worked until retirement. During this time, he was married his first wife, Eddie Faye Johnson Pryor. Even after retiring, his strong work ethic kept him active in the flooring industry alongside his brothers until his health didn’t allow him to continue working.
Above all, Tommy’s greatest accomplishment was his faith in Christ. He was one of 13 charter members of New Birth Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, where he found strength and purpose. He attended until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cassie Pryor Watson; and his brothers, Ray Pryor and Lee Pryor.
To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his daughter, Tonia Pryor of Dallas, TX; and his sons, Demetrius Pryor of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Tommy Pryor Jr. of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jared Pryor and Jaron Pryor, both of Dallas, TX; five great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Gerald Pryor and LaNarvell Pryor (Cassandra) of Dallas, TX; Vaneta Pryor Berry (Barry) and Morris Pryor of Sulphur Springs, TX; and Tiffany Pryor Ross of Georgetown, TX.
He also leaves behind his wife, Mary Ann Moore Pryor.
“TC” will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
