Elma Christine Webb-Locke, of Dallas, TX, was born June 2, 1952, to Lemon Webb and Amelia Dawson Webb. Christine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to others.
Christine attended and completed her education in the Dallas Public Schools system, graduating from L.G. Pinkston High School in 1970. After graduation, she began working at Trailways, where she worked for 10 years. In 1981, she transitioned into the medical field, where she found her true passion. Christine dedicated her life to healthcare, tirelessly serving in the industry until her retirement due to illness.
Christine was a faithful Christian who accepted Christ early in her life. She became a member of Rice Chapel AME Church in 1982, where she served in numerous ministries with joy and devotion. In 2006, she joined Friendship West Baptist Church, where she continued her work in the Healthcare Ministry until her time expired.
Christine was also a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star, Malaika #927, where she actively participated in various charitable and community service initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to both the organization and the values of faith, love, and service.
As a mother, Christine also served her community. She was president of the Band Booster Club while her children were in school and a member of the Dallas Inspirational Choir. Christine had a vibrant personality and loved spending time with her loved ones. She was a fashionista with an eye for style, loved solving Sudoku puzzles, and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows. A true prayer warrior, she began each day at 6 a.m., praying with her best friend and prayer partner, Bertha Gatson. Her family was the heart of her life, and she poured her love and wisdom into each of them.
Christine was preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Dawson Webb, father Lemon Webb, brothers Glen Webb, Arthur Webb, and Darrell Webb; her stepmother Viola Webb; and her stepbrothers Charles Crawford and Ernest Reynolds, and nephew Michael Webb.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Harvey Locke; children Temika Hopkins (Byron), Andrea Norris, and Tecumseh Oliver (Kambrin); grandchildren Shay, Ashante, AjaNae, Alexandria, Brandon, Passion, Adrian, Zariah, Londyn, Kamiah, & Ashley; great-grandchildren Iryiah, Wynter, Akia, Haven, & Gospel; siblings Tommy Webb (Murriel), Barbara McCoy (Derek), Kenneth Brown, Christopher Brown(Sheila), and Danielle Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Christine's love for God, family, church, and community will forever be remembered. May her legacy of faith, devotion, and service continue to inspire all who knew her.
