Obituary
Darrell Lamar Webb of Dallas, TX, was born March 7,1951 to the union of Amelia Dawson Webb and Lemon Webb.
Darrell attended and completed his education in the Dallas Public School system graduating from L.G. Pinkston High School class of 1969. He also attended Dallas Baptist University. Darrell was a devoted Christian. He accepted Christ at an early age and continued to be a devout Christian throughout his life. He was an active member in his church, he mentored young men at his church, Light of the World Church of Christ.
Darrell was an ambitious and hard-working man. His first job was with Abco Office Supply Company, the first Black-owned office supply company in Dallas, Texas, owned and operated by the patriarch of the family. He later worked for Garden Denver Industries before pursuing a career in Prosthetics-Orthotics at Scottish Rite hospital where he dedicated 20 years of service before retiring. Driven by his passion for the field, he came out of retirement to join the Prosthetics-Orthotics department at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he eventually retired once again. After the passing of their father Darrell and his younger brother Tommy began to work at Pleasant Grove Mortuary where Darrell served as a preneed specialist, guiding families with care and compassion during their time of need.
Darrell, a past Worshipful Master, 33rd degree Mason, a part of the RC Willimas Lodge # 2120. Darrell’s commitment to his brotherhood was unwavering. His duties included assigning officers with duties, facilitating protocols of meetings and he was an instructor and lecturer. He and his lodge brothers participated in many events such as volunteering and donating personal items to nursing homes throughout Texas.
He met Carmen McFadden in 2005, and friendship was formed. Unbeknownst to them their friendship would blossom into a 17 year marriage full of love and joy. His wife lovingly cared for him throughout his illness and continued to be by his side until the end.
In his free time, Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and simply relaxing at home while listening to his favorite music. He shared a deep passion for horses with his younger brother, and together with his brother and nephew, they participated in trail rides across the metroplex.
Darrell is preceded in death by his mother, Amelia Dawson Webb, father Lemon Webb, brothers Glen Webb and Authur Webb; his stepmother Viola Webb; and stepbrothers Charles Crawford and Ernest Reynolds.
Darrell was a loving brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Carmen Webb; daughter Blivian Owens; son Kendric Webb(Shonte) ;son Sheldon Webb(Erica);his twelve grandchildren Ralffayle, Candace, Marty, Devonta, DeVeja, Brenessia, Sharday, Dayshon, Jaylon, Edmond, Emery and Evan; one sister Elma Christine Locke(Harvey); brother Tommy Deleon Webb(Murriel) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and Pleasant Grove Mortuary staff.
May his legacy of love, faith, and friendship continue to inspire all who knew him.
